Amyloids are misfolded protein aggregates, they are present in a wide scale of biological organisms as structural building blocks (e.g., fish choria) and functional elements (e.g., as agents in insect immune systems). Amyloid plaques and fibrils are associated with numerous human diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease.
We present here a regularly updated list of amyloid structures in the ProteinData Bank, and, additionally, numerous soluble protein molecules with amyloid-like substructures.
